How to create a team in this Group Chat App?
To create a team, follow these steps:
- Launch this application
- Select the blue ‘+’ symbol near the top of the application window.
- Select the blue ‘Create Team’ button. This will open a page where you can name your team.
- Set a name for your team. Once you are happy with the name, select ‘Create Team’
- The application will then create a temporary channel for you called General and open a page giving you your team ID and other options for inviting members to your team. You can access this code later if you wish. For more information on these options see Inviting Users to your Team.
- Congratulations you have created your first team! You can now create more channels, invite users to your team, or simply use the general channel if you wish.
How to create a channel?
Creating a channel in this software is easy.
- Download and Install Semaphor
- Navigate to the team in which you want to create a channel and select the team.
- Select the blue ‘+’ within the speech bubble to be presented with the choices to ‘create a Channel’ or ‘Start Direct Message’. Choose the former.
- Give your channel a name and choose ‘Create Channel’
- If there are no other users in your team, you will be prompted with your team code in case you need it to invite new members to your team. Otherwise, you can click the Members button on the top right to add team members to your channel.
- Congratulations you have created your channel!
How to send a file?
You can send files to others by using this software. Navigate to the channel or Direct Message you wish to send the attachment in. Select the blue paperclip symbol next to the text entry field. This will open your local filesystem browser. Find the file you wish to send and select it. It will confirm that you wish to send this file and then upload it. Other users can then download the file and save it to their local device if they wish.
How to download a file?
You can open or save any file in a Semaphor channel.
